I’m a sun-loving word enthusiast who appreciates the good things in life… like a morning dip in the ocean, a smooth glass of merlot or a heated grammar debate.

I also help switched-on business owners (AKA you!) build a brand with authentic personality — so you can sell more stuff to the right people & achieve those *Big Ass Goals* on your vision board.

It’s both an art & a science, really.  

One I’ve spent many moons perfecting.

The Honours Degree in Marketing + PR got me started in the world of words.

(Fun fact: I was once a girl called Laura McClennan who lived on Chicken Tonight stir fry sauces all through uni #healthiswealth) 

Writing feature articles for magazines taught me to ask the right questions.

Writing pitch emails to journalists with story ideas (some genuine winners, some turds rolled in PR *glitter*) gave me a creative edge.

Writing a shit ton of email + website copy since launching my own business means I’ve learned what works… and what doesn’t.

But it’s my knack for writing your story in your voice — in a way that’s optimised for user experience — that’s gonna really tickle your pickle.

    I’m a really good TV guesser-er. As in, I can pinpoint exactly what’s going to happen in many a Netflix series. My most recent call was ‘She’s gonna find the omelette pan!’ And she did.

    I have a MASSIVE phobia of birds. Mostly magpies… but don’t go feeding the seagulls around me either, k? I blame growing up in the country & being attacked by chickens on a regualr basis (#trauma).

    I’m that person who corrects everyone's grammar…but I also once thought vacuum had a silent ‘n’ and I’ve never forgiven myself for it. So there’s that.

    After years of corporate life hustling in Melbourne/Auckland, I moved to Pāpāmoa Beach in 2017 & launched Tide Studio so I could write all day without having to wear pants. Best. Decision. Ever!

    I’m a huge fan of Spell dresses (the floatiness! The colours! The way the fabric feeeels!). Unfortunately, my husband — and our bank account — are not fans of me being a fan of Spell dresses.

    My death row meal would be an elaborate dessert buffet — choc fountain, ice cream, cake, the works.  If it’s my last meal on earth I’m going out in style. (So let’s add fries too?)

    My border collie Tiki gets me outside walking every day & is far more photogenic than I’ll ever be. He’s a part-time model & full-time Good Boy.

    Pet peeves include: being cold, hanging sheets on the washing line, bro marketing & otherwise dodgy sales tactics, my 4.45am alarm for boxing class, people that say ‘expresso’ whey they mean ‘espresso’ 🙃

    Things I love: sunrises, sparkling rosé, when someone says ‘shall we share?’ at dinner, and cuddles with my little man Reef (who, if you follow me on the ‘gram you’ll know, is mostly referred to as ‘Potato’).
